Members of the Church of the Palms have expressed their love of Creation through their generous support for the plans to reduce our carbon footprint by adding solar panels to their facility. After receiving an anonymous matching grant, members of The Palms church family have matched and surpassed the required matching amount that will enable them to go even further to improve energy efficiency and go green. What a wonder that the church can continue with its eco-friendly pursuit!
In preparation for the solar panels installation, a new roof was installed last week.

The committee that developed this contract estimates the time the church expects from the Bridge Pastor will be about 10 hours per week depending on how much time the individual needs to prepare his/her sermon.
Currently, the church office is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings, but Sun Lakes is open to discuss other times depending on the needs of the individual Bridge Pastor.

On Sunday, April 25, the Desert Garden congregation unanimously approved Rev. William (Bill) Utke as their new settled pastor. Rev. Utke and his wife, Rev. Ann Utke, will be moving to the area late this summer or early fall.

Read MoreOn Sunday, March 28, West Congregational Church UCC voted to end public ministry. West Church began in 1956 and was accepted into the Arizona Association of Congregational Christian Churches in 1958. In time the Congregational Christian Church congregations voted to join the United Church of Christ which had been established in 1957. On October 20, 1996 West Church celebrated 40 years with a special service.
The church’s final worship service will be on May 16, 3 p.m. at West Church.
