Jack Evans to be theological reflector at General Synod

Jack Evans, former Poet Laureate of the Southwest Conference, was asked to be one of three theological reflectors at Synod this year, the other two being a singer/songwriter and a visual artist. He is to create a poem to reflect the atmosphere and respond to the theme (light) of the event, and is scheduled to perform his work on the evening of June 24th.

Jack Evans has been an active member of the Phoenix alternative art scene for 40 years. He has been a poet, performance artist, and actor, as well as the director of various spoken word series and performance events over four decades. From 2011-15 he was the Poet Laureate of the Southwest Conference of the UCC and is currently half of the Evans Bell Conversion, a spoken word and music duo that opens for rock bands in taverns and performs at church services on Sundays.His most recent book is Rain Is The Hourglass Of Memory printed by Hoot n Waddle Press, Phoenix.
