CORONAVIRUS ADVISORY from Conference Minister, Rev. Dr. Bill Lyons

On the evening of Friday, February 28, the United Church of Christ Disaster Ministries released a Coronavirus advisory.

 Additional resources including a bulletin insert, the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, Pandemic Preparations Checklist for Churches,  and more can be found HERE.

 It is important to remember that very few cases have been confirmed in the geography of the Southwest Conference.

  • In Arizona, five cases have been confirmed and the individuals have been quarantined.  For information, resources, and updates about Coronavirus in Arizona visit THIS PAGE.

  • In Texas, multiple cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed. All individuals are quarantined in medical facilities. For information, resources and updates about Coronavirus in Texas visit THIS PAGE,

  • Mexico’s assistant health secretary announced Friday that the country now has two confirmed cases of the new coronavirus. Hugo Lopez-Gatell said one of the patients is in Mexico City and the other in the northern state of Sinaloa.
