Environmental Day at the Legislature

Wednesday, February 7, 2018
8:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Arizona State Capitol, Rose Garden
1700 W Washington, Phoenix

February 7 is Environmental Day at the Legislature. This year’s theme is Save Our Environment: Act Now! Arizona Interfaith Power & Light's goal is to get 100 members from Arizona's faith community  to advocate for clean air, land and water and promote clean energy.  Can you join then and recruit two or three people from your congregation? To have a visible presence from the religious community, please wear whatever clergy vestments you think appropriate.

At 12 noon on February 7, as part of E-Day at the Legislature, Arizona Interfaith Power & Light will produce an Interfaith Prayer Circle "Focusing Our Spirits for Action" in the Capitol Rose Garden.

We will have note cards with quotes from artists, poets, environmental activists, scientists, and spiritual leaders on the theme of social justice and environmental activism to pass out to participants

We will be meeting with legislators in teams to discuss important environmental issues, bills, and more. No experience is necessary and training is provided. It is a fun, interesting, and meaningful day! Be sure to RSVP. If you want to register to participate in visits to your legislators, you can do so by registering here.
