How the SWC supports #RedForEd

We will update this article as you share your stories of how you are supporting teachers, children, and/or parents during this time.

At Shepherd of the Hills:

In an effort to make the state-wide school walk out less painful for the children involved, Shepherd of the Hills has opened their doors from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays to give children a supervised place to be. Anyone who has a valid fingerprint card, availability during those hours, and a desire to work with children, please contact the church office to volunteer.

If you are available evenings after 5:00 p.m. to come in and do a building sweep to make sure toilet paper is in the bathrooms, trashcans are not overflowing, and any sticky spots are wiped up, we could use your help as well. (A fingerprint card is not required for this.)

Anyone wishing to donate individually packaged snacks and drinks can drop them off at the church office.

At Casas Adobes:

Cheer for Cheerios!

116 boxes of Cheerios, and counting.

The goal was to provide 100 boxes of Cheerios for Wednesday's food pantry at Keeling Elementary. We reached 116 boxes on Sunday morning, with 16 boxes of other brands thrown in for good measure.

Call the Cheerios Drive a success!

The surplus will come in handy if the pantry ends up serving more than 100 families on Wednesday. If not, the surplus will be distributed at the next pantry in May.

The CACC-UCC family, including a participant in the Saturday morning yoga class who read about the Cheerios Drive on Facebook, has again proven its immense generosity. Thank you, one and all!
