People's Climate Mobilization - Albuquerque

Saturday, September 8, 2018, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Bridge & 8th Street, and Dolores Huerta Gateway Park

The weekend before San Francisco’s Global Climate Action Summit, the Peoples Climate Movement will lead a national mobilization for climate, jobs, and justice.

September 8th will be a moving demonstration of the breadth and depth of the climate movement. Across the country, tens of thousands of people will show our power by hitting the streets, holding community forums, and educating voters about the issues – all to ensure that elected and private sector leaders make action on climate a priority.

Join communities throughout New Mexico and the nation: RISE AT THE RIO for the Climate, Water, Jobs, and Justice.

9:00 a.m. - Gather at the Rio Grande river at Bridge & 8th Street (southeast corner) to honor and remember the waters that sustain us as they and we feel the impacts of Global Climate Disruption.

9:15 a.m. - Prayers and march across the Bridge to Dolores Huerta Gateway Park

9:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Climate Action Fair  Register to vote, hear speakers, take action on Chaco and other urgent climate issues, and learn more about the issues and what you can do. There will be music, food, and activities for children.
