Arizona Faith Network Partner Events

Salon.1 - An Exchange of Ideas
Monday, October 21, 7-9 PM
First Church UCC Phoenix
1407 N 2nd St, Phoenix

First Church UCC Phoenix is introducing a Fall Salon series in partnership with local venues. These salons are gatherings to expose community to new ideas, ask powerful questions, and encourage learning outside of the confines of a classroom or church. They inspire. They ask big questions.

This month we're partnering with Fair Trade Café to explore our privilege and doing so by discussing the Netflix Documentary: "Hello, Privilege, It's Me, Chelsea". If you've been to our White Privilege series, this is a continuation, a check-in if you will, in hopes to see where we've come and help guide we're going.

Fireside Chat Series: Dr. John Pahl
Wednesday, October 30, 7:30 - 9:00 PM
First Church UCC Phoenix
1407 N 2nd St, Phoenix

First Church UCC Phoenix and the SEMA Foundation have invited Dr. Jon Pahl to talk about his latest book: Fethullah Gulen: A Life Of Hizmet: Why A Muslim Scholar in Pennsylvania Matters to the World.

The author Jon Pahl gained unprecedented access to Fethullah Gulen’s inner circle as well as to Gulen himself. This year officially marks 20 years since Gulen’s self-imposed exile in the Pocono Mountains. In 1999, Gulen traveled to the U.S. from Turkey. Despite living in a remote retreat center in Pennsylvania, Gulen continues to be a source of inspiration for hundreds of thousands of people across the globe.
