Urge EPA to Uphold Environmental Protections

Within the past three years, the Environmental Protection Agency has targeted nearly 80 environmental regulations meant to protect our water, air, land and public health. The most recent attacks on environmental protections include weakening safeguards against methane, a strong pollutant that warms the climate 86 times more than carbon dioxide during the first twenty-six years after its release. Methane emissions further contribute to asthma, low birth weight, cancer and other health problems, and indirectly contribute to missed days at school and work.

As people of faith, we are called to care for creation so that members of all communities may seek a healthy and abundant life for their families and children. The proposed methane rollback poses a significant threat of increased pollution that will harm human health, and particularly impact marginalized communities at the forefront of climate change.

The comment period for this regulatory rollback is currently open until November 25th. Any proposals to weaken or do away with safeguards against methane pollution are unethical and immoral. We must urge the EPA to uphold current protections against methane pollution in order to keep God’s creation and our communities safe from harm.

Help protect God's creation and comment your opposition to the rollback of methane regulations!
