In Albuquerque last weekend, Dr. Toni preached her first sermon and facilitated a racial justice forum on the wealth gap her new role as our Transitional Conference Minister, right after participating in the Common Ground at the Border to see the “amazing ministry taking place throughout this conference.” She said, “Join us in passing the salt to promote transformation in the lives of many. Truly the best is yet to come!”

The Alliance of Associate Conference Ministers and the Council of Conference Ministers have witnessed the weariness experienced by our authorized ministers and have come together to offer a pastoral letter of care and concern for our colleagues. Grounded in the words from Matthew 14:23, the need for rest and renewal for our leaders who serve God’s people is uplifted. Also provided are resources for clergy and their congregational leaders to consider in making the space and time for clergy renewal. Both of these are in this post. We pray our words allow your exhaustion to be seen and hope to empower you claim the space for sabbath renewal.

Chapman’s Office of Church Relations, partnering with our beloved alum Lee Yates, is announcing a 6-month Youth Leadership Symposium to offer leadership education and mentoring that will build up the youth’s home congregation and, upon completion, make the student eligible for a half tuition scholarship at Chapman and TCU.
