Hospitality Concert

Saturday, December 23rd
2:00 PM at Rincon Congregational UCC

Siblings Bellamy and Richard Bailey (harpists), along with friends Renee Li (pianist) and Genevieve Tranum, will be performing in concert on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of our church.  The concert, featuring classical, jazz, and world music, as well as Christmas favorites, is being held in support of Rincon UCC’s hospitality program.  The concert is free, and free-will offerings will be accepted and donated entirely to the individuals who receive assistance from our church’s hospitality mission.   Please come, take a moment of respite in the busy days before Christmas arrives, be generous, and help these young performers bring their music to the church’s important work!

Renee Li has been playing piano for seven years.  She is a seventh grader at Basis Tucson North.  In addition to studying piano, she takes voice and drawing lessons, likes to read and write, and stays active by playing tennis.

Bellamy Bailey, also a seventh grader at Basis Tucson North, has played the harp for almost two years and was fortunate to travel with the American Youth Harp Ensemble to England and Wales for performances in castles and cathedrals last summer.  She is a an active member of Girl Scout Troop 611, being a cadette working on her Silver Award. She is a year-round swimmer on Ventana Canyon Swim Team, and also a member of Arizona Trails Association, the Mandarin Club, and the Coding Club at school.  She started attending Rincon UCC when she moved to Tucson five years ago.

Richard Bailey is Bellamy’s big brother and a junior at the University of Virginia’s School of Engineering, where he is specializing in computer science.  He has been playing harp for eleven years and has traveled with the American Youth Harp Ensemble to perform at international destinations such as Australia, Canada, Austria, England, and Wales.  He has also performed at renowned venues in the U.S. including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center.  Richard is an Eagle Scout and an avid member of the UVA water polo team.
