Some recent items of interest at our churches:

St. Paul's UCC in Rio Rancho, NM held a Hanukkah lunch in honor of and celebration with their Jewish neighbors.

Scottsdale UCC's Angel Tree (Giving Tree) held tags for the youth and young adults of Rebel and Divine UCC. A lovely way to support one of our Conference churches.

The youth of The Good Shepherd UCC in Sahuarita have started a new curriculum, Peacejam, focusing on the lives and work of 14 Nobel Peace Prize Laureates. Peacejam is an international project for youth empowerment. Through this curriculum, youth are introduced to humanitarian challenges across the world and the people who are working for positive social change. The hope is that this study will help identify community needs that will lead to a service project with local impact.

Desert Palm UCC has a new mission partner, Lifting Hands. Lifting Hands collects new and gently used furniture and household items as well as grocery certificates to furnish homes/apartments for resettled refugees in the Phoenix area. The grocery certificates allow them to stock the cupboards and refrigerators.
