"First Church UCC is pleased and excited to announce that our Associate Pastoral candidate, Reverend Susan Valiquette has been formally accepted by our congregation and we will be welcoming her and her daughter, Madeline in July!"

Susan was ordained in the United Church of Christ in 1995 at the age of 25. She was hired as an Associate Minister of a large 1500-member congregation before she completed her studies and served as the Associate Minister for Congregational Life at First Congregational Church in Battle Creek, Michigan, USA, for five years.

Susan applied to be a mission co-worker with Global Ministries. She was then seconded to serve as the Chaplain at the Inanda Seminary, an all-girls secondary boarding school located in a township in South Africa. Inanda Seminary was started by Congregationalist missionaries in 1869. She served as the school’s Chaplain for 18 years.
