JUST PEACE Sunday is Sept. 16th. Just Peace is a path requiring awareness and vigilance to resolve conflict in ourselves, our families, our communities, our institutions, and our world.

Black Mountain UCC posted an update from UCC Disaster Ministries. Workers are needed for continued relief work in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. For information contact Phil Shea at philipshea@justicestar.org.

Church of the Beatitudes is offering an educational event on Sept 16th from 2-4 PM titled “What do different faiths believe”. Four faith leaders will speak about Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, and Christian faiths with Q and A time afterwards. All are welcome.

Beatitudes has also announced Janelle Tapphorn as its new Communications/Media Specialist.

Scottsdale UCC is collecting emergency school supplies for neighboring Navajo School which just suffered a fire and closed the school this past week. Supplies are needed to replace those lost.

Desert Palm UCC in Tempe is hosting a #Metoo concert on Sept 16th at 6:30 featuring their pianist and jazz musician Claudia Bloom.

United Church of Sun City is starting their 6th year supporting Treasures4teachers. The church averages collections of 4 large boxes of supplies a month and has several volunteers that support the partnership. It just takes one person to make a difference. This mission partnership was the suggestion of one church member. 

First Church Albuquerque will be supporting “Rise at the Rio” on Sept 8th. Meet at the corner of Bridge and 8th at 9:15 to march across the Bridge to Dolores Huerta Gateway Park for a Climate Action Fair from 9:45-1.

Rev Talitha Arnold from United Church of Santa Fe will be a panelist on the “Role of Faith Communities with Persons with severe Mental Disabilities” in Washington D.C. on Sept 12th. The expert panel is being convened by the White House Partnership Center and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration.

Shadow Rock UCC is calling all writers! "Writing Down the Mountain," a creative writing group, is starting again on September 4th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Anyone is welcome to participate. Please contact Peg Heintzelman to participate or to learn more.
