Although this year’s Super Bowl was a real snooze with little in the way of touchdowns, this year’s Souper Bowl of Caring Sunday in Sun City was a real thriller.
United Church of Sun City squared off against the Church of the Palms as congregants readily engaged in the fun competition and once the competition was over, the United Church of Sun City won the sought-after Silver Ladle.
However, the real winner was the Valley View Food Bank, recipient of the soup that was raised. Between the two churches over 6,600 cans and packages of soup was donated!
This is the third year for the competition. Last year over 5,000 cans and packages were raised. Next year is sure to be even bigger!
