Ashes to Go: Shepherd Of The Hills will join forces again this year with Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3641 N 56th St, Phoenix, AZ 85018, to do “Ashes to Go.” It will be located at the pull-through portion of Prince of Peace’s parking lot just off 56th street. We will also join them for Ash Wednesday services at their church that day at 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

As writer Frederick Buechner says, “To hear the texts of Lent and your answers to the questions of Lent is to begin to hear something not only of who you are but of both what you are becoming, and what you are failing to become.” “It can be a pretty depressing business all in all,” Buechner admits, “but if sackcloth and ashes are at the start of it, something like Easter may be at the end.” (Childcare—both services; older children invited to share in worship.)
