As of a week ago, the scissors were out and waiting- the “cut it offs” were ahead by $425. Either way, the scholarship fund was the big winner.
The Drive ‘n’ Drop at First Congregational in Albuquerque, normally held to collect items for the various charities and programs supported by the church, was expanded yesterday to include a Blessing of the Animals. I’m sure the collection went well, as folks couldn’t bring a pet without something else to add!
I’ve never heard of a combination Town-Hall-oween and Trunk-or-Treat event. But that’s what Oro Valley UCC is planning for Oct 31st at 4pm! Folks are invited to an outdoor, socially distanced fellowship gathering and Trunk-Or-Treat. This will be a time for church leaders to provide an update on the current state of the church and ministry and a fun filled and safe time for fellowship. Everyone is asked to bring a basket of candy to share and a safe parade of treaters will be going car to car to fill up their candy bags. All ages are invited to wear costumes or dress however the Spirit (or spirits) inspire them!
