W.I.S.E. Walkers at Shadow Rock raised over $3600 for NAMI!

Longtime Shadow Rock UCC member Susan Glynn organized their W.I.S.E. Team to join the NAMI Walks Your Way Valley of the Sun on October 15 with a small but mighty team, “WISE Walkers.” Not only did Shadow Rock really rock it by raising over $3600, they were also thrilled to become the third top fundraising team out of 92 teams!

Susan is a 20-year member of NAMI (The National Alliance on Mental Illness) due to her son’s mental illness, and this year, the 10th anniversary of his death, she wanted to honor his memory through this Walk. NAMI helped throughout her son’s journey with their free education and support programs.

Susan says, “I give much of our success to the support of our pastor, Ken Heintzelman who even allowed our W.I.S.E Team to do the Service the day after the  NAMI Walk on Access Sunday with Michael Curry preparing and leading the sermon. Our fundraising was greatly enhanced by the use of social media, mainly my Facebook Fundraising Page.”

Congrats!
