Desert Garden UCC completed a two-week partnership with AZStRUT out of Mesa to provide electronics recycling for Sun City West and surrounding area. AZStRUT supports title one schools and not-for-profits through this program. Over 15,400 lbs. of electronics were recycled.

DG UCC is also moving toward an ecumenical consortium with two ELCA Lutheran Congregations nearby to help settle a refugee family in the coming months. Training is by Lutheran Social Services.

On March 27 and April 3, DG UCC offered an opportunity to sign a petition to support the “Predatory Debt Collection Protection” act on the 2022 ballot in Arizona.

On March 31st, Desert Garden UCC and friends completed a 10-week gleaning program in support of St. Mary’s Food Pantry. This has been a “fruitful” partnership for both church and Pantry for several years now. It's expected that the gleaning team collected around 30,000lbs of fruit from homes in Sun City West.
