Desert Garden United Church of Christ in Sun City West, AZ, announces that the Rev. David Finnegan-Hosey will deliver the 2022 address for the annual Sawitski Memorial Lecture in webinar format.
His lecture, Sorrows Like Sea Billows Roll: Mental Health Challenges and Our Journeys of Faith, will be followed with break-out groups and a Q & A segment. The Rev. Finnegan-Hosey is the author of Christ on the Psych Ward and Grace Is a Pre-Existing Condition.
The webinar will also feature poetry by the Rev. Michelle Hargrave, who has an ongoing poetry ministry with her Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato, Minnesota.
The webinar is free; donations welcome.
Continuing education hours are available if requested upon registration which will begin in September at desertgardenucc.org.
Originally intended as an in-person event, the pandemic prohibited that venue as neither safe or practical. The webinar format has allowed us to engage participants throughout the U.S. and abroad. An in-person big-screen viewing of the webinar is available in the church’s Fellowship Hall at 18818 N. 128th Avenue, Sun City West, AZ.
