The parish nurse at Casas Adobes checks folks’ blood pressure on Sundays after church.  Many of our churches have parish nurses- or a nurse, EMT, or doctor as a member.  This is a great service to offer!

Teachers and staff at Keeling Elementary Schools were overwhelmed by the generosity of Casas Adobes members. In addition to the multitude of donated and purchased supplies, a cash contribution was made to the school. That donation will be used to purchase additional supplies as the needs arise.

Maryland School was extremely happy with the donation that Church of the Beatitudes gifted them this week.  They presented the school with 37 large backpacks, a couple of small backpacks plus lots of markers, colored pencils, tissues, bottled water, and so much more!  They also had $490 in monetary donations which Linda and Bruce Bear took and shopped for even more supplies.

(Many of our churches have partnerships with area schools.  Thank you ALL for your generosity.)

ABQ FaithWorks and Dignity not Detention –  New Mexico Coalition, invites you to the Day of Remembrance on August 24th.  This event is to honor all those who have suffered in ICE detention: those currently or formerly in immigrant detention at facilities all over the country, and those who have died in detention, including Kesley Vial, who died tragically on August 24th, 2022. If you have any questions or would like to further support this Day of Remembrance, please contact NMILC Attorney Sophia Genovese at sgenovese@nmilc.org.
