Perhaps you or someone you know is ready to become a spiritual director and looking for a flexible online program that includes a lot of practicum and one-on-one attention.

That is what the Phoenix Center for Spiritual Direction’s Apprentice Training Program is all about—and we have immediate openings for apprentices. Begun in 2019, we have now expanded to three experienced mentor/trainers, giving us more capacity to take on new apprentices.

This program is designed for spiritually mature people who have already done a lot of formation work, have an aptitude for deep listening, and seek an emphasis on the practical skills used in spiritual direction. Based on the popular book Spiritual Direction 101 by the founder of the apprentice training program, Teresa Blythe, training takes about 9 months to complete. There are 20 classes with the trainer and the apprentice must complete 12 supervised spiritual direction sessions to receive a Certificate of Completion.
