Casas Adobes will join with two other congregations in sponsoring Poz Café, a monthly sit-down lunch which TIHAN provides for people who have HIV. Each care partner is given a bag of essentials which cannot be purchased with food stamps. This year Casas Adobes will provide:
120 deodorants
120 boxes of Kleenex
40 bottles of laundry soap

Church of the Painted Hills had an amazing 50th anniversary celebration. Worship was wonderful with special music; and a very inspirational message by their transitional pastor, Carlos Sosa. It was wonderful to see folks who hadn’t seen for a long time; and everyone enjoyed the fellowship. Painted Hills has always had very talented musicians, and many of them returned to sing, and play various instruments. There were over 90 in attendance; and, after worship there was fellowship and music with a delicious meal. You can browse some photos here.
Looking for a daily spiritual practice that will accompany you through the season of Lent? The Open and Affirming Coalition of the United Church of Christ offers a beautiful, contemplative weekday service of Morning Prayer with Taizé chant, psalms, brief scripture reading, litany, and silence. It's based on the ancient morning service of Lauds ("Praise"). Our community gathers at 9 am EST Monday through Friday. Another community on the West Coast prays at 11 am EST, or 8 am PST. Optional conversation follows. The Coalition has been offering these services since 2020. Registration is free and will get you links to both services. The translation of the psalms and prayers are inclusive.
