Sheri Slaybaugh is leaving the SWC staff. Her life circumstances have changed and she discerned a need to make an employment change. We are sorry to say goodbye to Sheri, and I want to thank her publicly for her dedication, devotion, and good work! Well done, Sheri. We will miss you.
How will this affect you?
First, the game plan is the same even though the players are different. There are no changes to where and how you send OCWM contributions or personal gifts to the Southwest Conference.
Next, January 10th is the deadline to receive your 2017 contributions to OCWM, per capita, the 5-for-5 and 7-for-7 offerings. This deadline has been flexible in the past. Because we now use an outside bookkeeping service, this is now a firm deadline because we do not have the option to backdate contribution checks received after January 10. Any contributions received after that date will be credited to your 5-for-5 or 7-for-7 for 2018.
We understand there is not much time between the Christmas Fund offering and the January 10th deadline. Thank you for making arrangements to have your Christmas Fund offering to the conference office by January 10th.
Finally, reimbursements may take a bit longer to reach you. Checks are being processed by the bookkeeping service and will be mailed directly to payees. Checks will not be available for pick-up in the conference office.
Our goal is to provide you with the excellent personal service you’ve received from our financial staff when you call or email. The SWC will realize a net saving in costs by implementing this plan. Let us know if something unintended results from these new ways of doing business. We are striving to make this unexpected transition as painless as possible.
Please share this information with your finance team and treasurer. It will also appear on our conference news blog and In the Loop.
May your Christmas be joyful, hopeful, peaceful and loving!
