This workshop is open to all who wish to develop skills and practices in advocating in the public sphere for our most vulnerable neighbors.
Led by the Rev. Alexia Salvatierra, a national leader in areas of poverty and immigration. An ELCA pastor with more than 35 years of experience in community ministry, she is co-author of Faith-Rooted Organization: Mobilizing the Church in Service to the World.
Topics to be covered include: theological framework for faith-rooted organizing and social justice advocacy; strategies to engage fellow faith followers and community leaders; and next steps for action on specific public policy issues in Arizona.
Registration cost: $20; free for UCC members.
Lunch will be available for purchase from local food trucks at noon.
