Introducing Rev. Jay Deskins!
Recently called as Regional Youth and Children's Minister for the Christian Church in Arizona (Disciples of Christ), Jay has been approved by the SWC Executive Board as UCC/DOC joint youth ministry director.
Jay is a graduate of Christian Theological Seminary. He has served congregations in Kentucky and most recently Indiana, where he served as Associate Pastor at Downey Avenue Christian Church in Indianapolis. He has over 15 summers of camp counseling and directing experience in Kentucky, Indiana, and North Carolina at Christmount Christian Assembly. He is passionate about making sure that young people have the best opportunities to experience God in community.
He and his wife, Rev. Kelley Dick and their dog Maybelline made Arizona their home in 2017, and are loving the adventure that God is leading them on!
The Southwest Conference called Jay to coordinate the transition to a joint camp experience with the CCDOC youth, and for support beyond camp.
You can meet Jay in person on September 9, as he will be a reflector on "Emerging Faith-filled Transformation and Leadership in Youth" at the Associate Conference Minister's installation.
