Death of Rev. James Rabb

We are holding the family of Rev. Jim Rabb in our prayers. Jim died last night (9/17/19) after a short hospice stay. His sons, Jim and Ian, and his daughter, Kimsley, were with Jim the last week of his life and at the time of his passing. 

Rev. Rabb was ordained in 1962 by the American Baptist Convention in Tekoa, Washington. He retired June 28, 1999 after serving Encanto Community Church Phoenix 1982-1998. After retiring Jim continued ministry at

  • Desert View UCC (Interim) El Paso 2006-2007

  • West Congregational (Interim) Phoenix 2004-2006

  • Community Congregational (Interim) Tombstone 2003-2004

  • St Paul's UCC Rio Rancho NM (Interim) 2000-2001

He was also active in SWC leadership:

  • SWC Committee on Church & Ministry 1997-1999

  • Served SWC Support Committee

  • New Church Exploration pastor 1998-1999

  • One of three hosts for SWC Annual Meeting 1994

  • Served SWC Board of Directors 1989-1991

Prior to serving in the Southwest Conference Jim served

  • Custer Community Church Custer South Dakota 1980-1982

  • 1st Congregational Church Warham Mass 1974-1980

  • Hanover and Libson, in Connecticut (shared ministries) 1971-1974

  • St Joseph Island Parish, Ontario, Canada UC of Canada 1967-1971
