10 Christian Women Shaping the Church in 2020

“The resilience and fortitude of women inspires me and the connections I observe among young women to their ancestors and future generations gives me tremendous hope,” says Rev. Howe Wispelwey. “I think in particular about Jasilyn Charger, the young native woman, at the time 14 years old, who started the Standing Rock prayer camp and movement out of a call that she felt from her ancestors and a responsibility to future generations she was compelled by.  I also think of Zyahna Bryant, a young Black woman from Charlottesville, VA, who as a Junior in high school, gave a public press conference arguing for the removal of white supremacist monuments that seeded the movement and activism of the last three years there. I am so grateful to be part of this time and place with these amazing women.”

Tracy will preach during the closing worship at our Annual Meeting on Sunday, April 26 at The Good Shepherd United Church of Christ.
