In 2002, Jeanne Jensen, a long-time member of Desert Garden UCC, invited members to give a dollar a day during the 40 days of Lent. That year $535 was given to what has become known as the continually increasing Lenten Fund.

This year the Mission Outreach Committee introduced us to the RIP Medical Debt Relief as the recipient of the Lenten Fund. DGUCC is pleased to have contributed $5240, to date, as its part toward the Southwest Conference goal of $15,000. We trust that our gifts will bring help and hope to families stressed by medical debt.

Thank you, Desert Garden, and ALL churches and individuals who made the RIP Medical Debt Relief a success! The final amount will be announced at our Virtual Annual Meeting next weekend.
