Contract for: Bridge Pastor for a Designated Term

Expectations and Responsibilities:

1. The Bridge Pastor will be a graduate of an accredited seminary and have standing in the UCC denomination.

2. The Bridge Pastor will be responsible, in coordination with the BMUCC Worship Team, for the planning and implementation of the weekly Worship service including communion monthly.

a. Provide inspirational worship leadership and insightful spiritual instruction

b. Coordinate the service music with the musician

Note that our hybrid worship service is currently held on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and streamed on YouTube.

3. The Bridge Pastor will provide a minimum of 4 hours each week of pastoral services in the office which may include pastoral counseling and support of the Council as requested.

4. The Bridge Pastor will officiate at any weddings, funerals and baptisms as may be requested. (Honorarium to be negotiated at the time of the event with the parties seeking the service)

5. The Bridge Pastor will attend the monthly Council meeting and others as requested.

6. The Bridge Pastor will coordinate with Council officers on a weekly basis on other relevant church business and provide any counsel on the transition process they may have.

7. We are currently in the process of hiring a part-time church admin in an effort to minimize the admin work done by the Bridge Pastor and the Council. We anticipate hiring this admin by the time the Bridge Pastor begins.

This Term Contract is for an initial six-month period. The contract will be renewable for a mutually agreed upon term.

A.  This contract may be terminated at the request of the Bridge Pastor, providing that the Bridge Pastor provides written notice one month beforehand.

B.  This contract may be terminated at such time as the Church Council establishes the date when a Interim Minister is called.

C.  This contract may be terminated at such time as the Church Council may determine that alternative ministerial staffing will be required providing the Bridge Pastor with one month written notice.

D. The Bridge Pastor will be paid $1050 ($35 per hour for 30 hours) semi-monthly on the 15th and last day of the month.
