Registration for the Nollau Leadership Institute Class of 2022-2023 is now open. The program is a stellar opportunity for leadership development and continuing education, building skills applicable for church and beyond-the-church employment and nonprofit settings. The program is open to everyone – clergy, lay leaders, MIDs, pre-MIDs, anyone seeking professional and/or continuing education opportunities, and the list continues. SWC scholarships for non-traditional track MIDs are available.
The Nollau Leadership Institute is CHHSM’s signature program with more than 250 attendees in its 20+ years. Enrollment is now open and the short online application can be found here.
Through retreats, online interactions, and peer mentoring, this program is intended to support leadership formation through a variety of learning modalities and a community of practice. Grounded in the tradition of the United Church of Christ, rituals, contemplative practices, small group sharing, and embodiment are all part of the program—alongside the interactive didactic sessions.
The Nollau faculty has a tradition of updating content based on feedback from participants. This year's class will be no exception, but it will also have the benefit of implementing recommendations from the Race, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (RDEI) Audit CHHSM completed as part of its commitment to anti-racism. Leadership will be examined, and practiced, through the lenses of anti-oppression, social justice, and a deep sense of self and others. Learn more about the curriculum here.
The program will consist of two in-person retreats at the Cedar Valley Retreat Center, online interactions in between the retreats, and an additional day of programming at the CHHSM 85th Annual Gathering that concludes with commissioning the class as Diakonal Ministers.
