Greetings, Beloved Members of the Southwest Conference,
As we gather in the glow of the Christ candle in celebration and reflection of this sacred Christmastide, we are reminded of the humble birth of Christ. It was in the simplicity of a stable, to a single mother, in the company of livestock, Emmanuel entered the world— a divine light amid earthly darkness.
In the midst of this powerful story, I find myself in awe of the wonderful narrative of love, and I am deeply grateful for each of you. Together, we are recipients of boundless love that emanates from the One who intimately understood the depths of the human experience—from the vulnerability of a newborn in a manger to the uncertainties of homelessness.
You, dear friends, embody the hands and feet of Jesus in the Southwest Conference (SWC). Your compassion and dedication mirror the selfless love demonstrated by Jesus throughout His earthly journey. In this season of giving and receiving, your presence and impact in the communities you serve offer hope and a witness to the transformative power of God's love.
As we celebrate the birth of Christ, let us also remember that His story, born of humble beginnings, continues to shape our stories. We are part of a larger narrative; our collective mission reflects the light that brought joy to the world.
On behalf of the Executive Board and Southwest Conference staff, I extend my heartfelt appreciation for your tireless efforts. May the spirit of Christmas fill your homes with the warmth of Christ's love. May the blessings of the One who found shelter in a manger be with you and your loved ones, guiding us into a New Year filled with the promise of hope, opportunities, and greater connection.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year!
Dr. Toni
