March on Oak Flat
February 18th
Let us not forget the Standing Rock Sioux tribe with their fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline. They have been champions fighting for Mother Earth and reminding us that “Water is Life.”
Right here in Arizona, the San Carlos Apache tribe has been fighting to protect sacred land against an extraction industry that will destroy land that is special for many reasons—sacred to the Apaches, fought for by environmentalists, and favored by rock climbers, birders, hikers and mountain bikers.
Please see the information on the 3rd annual March to Oak Flat, Feb. 16-19.
I plan on gathering at Oak Flat on Saturday, Feb. 18th. Consider inviting your friends, colleagues and congregations to show their support for the fight to protect Oak Flat.
