Gail Bird and Jo Vredenburg received Champion Volunteer awards at the Arizona Faith Network Annual Meeting on May 1.
Their volunteer time with AFN is purely as non-board member volunteers, diligently serving on one of the most active Commissions, Public Policy. Gail and Jo have consistently attended and volunteered at all AFN events since November, 2017.
They have also provided special support to the Executive Director in thinking through direction of the organization, and provided insight and written publications to keep AFN thinking and caring about the issues as people of faith.
Gail and Jo invited AFN to their own house of worship to speak, and offered and hosted a forum at their house of worship to help get more visibility and partnership for the work. They have also consistently and generously given of their own resources.
"They were identified as “Champion Volunteers” because this year they have championed the vision, mission and values of AFN like no other partner. This has been critical in a year of transition and they are very much appreciated." - Dr. Jannah Scott, Executive Director.
Congratulations, thank you, and well done, Jo and Gail!
