It was a great birthday. I spent the day before at the NM Women’s March in a sit-in in the Governor’s office in the NM Roundhouse. There was hours of singing and praying and reading our demands. The State Police arrived. There was pushing and shoving and more reading our demands. The long day ended with us being handcuffed and taken out into police cars. Then, we were ticketed and released. The day ended about 10 pm with my fellow demonstrators singing happy birthday. By the time I drove back up to Taos it was my birthday. Friends at Taos UCC gave me a birthday card that said, “You’re never too old to get handcuffed.”
