Phoenix City Councilwoman Laura Pastor invites faith leaders, health ministry and lay leaders to join the Arizona Department of Health Services Annual Integrated HIV Symposium for a session on HIV/AIDS and the Faith Community.

HIV continues to be a public health challenge throughout the United States, including Maricopa County. The purpose of the session is to help faith leaders increase their knowledge of HIV and their comfortability with ending HIV related stigma. Faith leaders (pastors, rabbis, Imams) health ministry, lay leaders are all invited to attend the conference lunch and then the breakout session afterward.

We need spiritual and lay leaders of all backgrounds to help stamp out stigma surrounding HIV and end this virus’ hold on humanity.

We are looking for faith leaders to be table leaders for the breakout session. We are also seeking faith leaders committed to promoting the event and attending so that they can encourage others to be part of the change.
