From The Good Shepherd UCC:
We are delighted to have an unprecedented response to our Common Ground on the Border / Border Issues Fair event. January 16-18, 2020. We have individuals and groups coming from across the country to learn more about what is happening in our borderlands. Many thanks to those who have volunteered to make this event a successful one! It takes many hands and many willing hearts to engage in this ministry. We are in just the right place at just the right time to help others across the country to learn about how they might support the work at the border.
Due to limitations of space, we found it necessary to close registration to those wanting to attend the entire conference. However, for those who are still interested in attending part of the event, there are still some opportunities available. Tickets will be sold at the door for both the Friday evening ($20.00) and the Saturday evening ($10.00) concerts. This year, we are delighted to welcome Scott Ainslie for Friday evening. He is a very talented musician and has a solid understanding of the role of music in our history of social injustice. Saturday evening, we will welcome faculty and students to the stage and you will have the opportunity to view some of the creative work of the students during their time in our classes.
Finally, there are two classes still available and you can purchase tickets at the door for these classes on Friday ($30.00 each). The first class meets from 1:00 - 3:00 on Friday and Saturday and is called "Bystander Intervention." The second class, Immigration 101, meets from 3:15 - 5:15 on Friday and Saturday. You can find course descriptions for these classes in the brochure.
