Updates from the UCC's Council for Climate Justice

The UCC's Council for Climate Justice is provides timely information and educational resources for everyone interested in taking action on behalf of God's creation.

The Council for Climate Justice has also issued a ten-year Kairos Action Plan and continues to network with the Interfaith Power and Light, the Sierra Club and other ecojustice organizations working at the national level.

Environmental Day at the Legislature: And for those who are interested in ecojustice in the SW, the local chapter of the Interfaith Power and Light has teamed up with the Sierra Club to coordinate a day of lobbying during the Environmental Day at the Legislature. General topics to be covered include:

Climate Change: the call is to oppose legislation that seeks to limit clean energy (HB2248 and SB1175) and to build the electric vehicle infrastructure (Chispa has been working on this issue as well); Water Issues (for an excellent overview of the state of our water in the SW bioregion click on this link: https://www.facebook.com/sierraclubaz/videos/247218920153726; and Voting Rights (countereing voter suppression, etc.).
