We continue praying for Ukraine, for Ukrainians, for peace, and for the many displaced people now on the move. We give thanks for the host countries in Europe providing refuge and for the humanitarian aid being made available.
The UCC is collaborating with close partners in the Reformed Church of Hungary (RCH) to channel aid to Ukrainians. The RCH responding through its agency, Hungarian Reformed Church Aid (HRCA). HRCA works with vulnerable communities including elderly people and other internally displaced persons inside Ukraine who have not been able to leave. This includes immigrants and migrant neighbors who are experiencing difficulties crossing into other European countries. HRCA is also working though a humanitarian corridor to provide assistance in Ukraine and work with refugees who are leaving. HRCA has been active since the beginning of the war, and provides a webpage with daily updates, which is now posted on the Global Ministries website: https://www.globalministries.org/reformed-church-in-hungary-emergency-response-for-ukraine-updates/
The UCC is a member of ACT Alliance. The UCC nationally will also support their efforts in Ukraine through this global ecumenical organization already collaborating with additional partners in the region.
