The second part of the Lenten Giving Project by the members of Sun Lakes United Church of Christ, helped to support Justa Center. “Justa Center provides life-sustaining resources, services, and support to assist homeless seniors on their path to housing and supportive services to help prevent a return to homelessness.”
Justa Center assists individuals 55 and over who are experiencing homelessness. They offer services such as: hot showers, meals, clean clothes, computer lab, help to find housing, medical care, along with access to attorney services, Medicare support, tax and Social Security support, and Veteran’s outreach. However, the most important things that an individual will receive from Justa Center is Respect. Everyone who comes for help will be treated with respect and dignity, and to feel safe while at the Center.
The church collected the following types of items from March 18th through April 1st for Justa Center: personal care items, paper goods, and bottled water and other items to help in the hot Arizona weather.
This picture shows the van load of items that were taken to Justa Center on April 18th by Frank and Pat Naive, members of The Mission Team. Along with the items collected, a check for $400.00 was also sent to Justa Center.
