Hunger strikes in Washington DC and in many local communities have begun in earnest with hope that nonviolent action will move politicians to heed the will of a supermajority of Americans who want voting rights protected by passing the combined Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Amendment Act.
