TUESDAY 3/24 is Desert Palm’s Drive Thru Donation Drop-Off Day

The  East Valley Church Network (which sponsored the recent event at Desert Palm) is in special need of bath towels, in case immigrant families, who are scheduled to be given amnesty in the next few weeks, are released by ICE.

To collect towels and/or food donations, our Justice and Witness Team is hosting a Drive-Thru Donation Drop-off Day,  (Tuesday, March 24th) in the church parking lot.  Donations will be collected between the hours of  (10AM-6PM).

To keep within the coronavirus guidelines we ask that you do your best to minimize any human contact.  Just drive up, drop off and head out.  Tables will be near the main gate/entrance (one for towels, one for food donations).  We may have someone sitting in the parking lot who will wave to you or give you a thumbs up!  But please just wave back or shout a greeting.  This corona virus is serious business so we want to help others without putting you or anyone else in danger.  So please remember: no one should park their car, nor stop to meet someone else bringing a donation.  Everybody just wave and know that this, too, helps!

The  food will be  delivered to iHelp for distribution to the homeless, and the towels will be  taken to the University Presbyterian church for distribution to churches taking in immigrant families.

Thanks in advance for your donations, for which we are most grateful. First and foremost, the Desert Palms Justice and Witness Team wants you to be safe and take care of yourself. There is no obligation to bring a donation, especially if staying home is a better personal choice for you.

Should Governor Ducey ‘shut down the State of Arizona’ before tomorrow, this event will be cancelled automatically.
