Church Jottings 10/26/2020

As part of the All Saints/Dia de los Muertos Tucson community memory table Casas Adobes UCC in the past had set out note cards and markers to write names, prayers, poems or drawings about loved ones they were remembering.  This year, folks can email Pastor John a message, poem, name or attach a scanned image in memory of your loved one.  Pastor John will print and safely take the remembrances to the “All Souls Procession” drop box downtown.  The notes will be placed in the community urn to be burned as part of the event livestreamed on November 8th.

First Congregational UCC in Flagstaff is delighted to announce that they have entered into a Covenant with Pastor Jane Jones (formerly Cheek) to serve as their Bridge Pastor for an indefinite period of time while they decide what path to take to fill their pastoral vacancy.

Misael Perez, who was Shadow Rock's second sanctuary guest, is reaching an important milestone in his immigration journey. He is going to court for his asylum hearing in the first week in December and the church is offering its support with lots of Letters of Good Moral Character.  Prayers for a positive outcome.

Congregational Church of the Valley has chartered Boy Scout Troop 649 for many years and it has been a wonderful collaboration! The troop has produced numerous Eagle Scouts over the years and the CCOV campus has been among the beneficiaries. The new ramadas in the courtyard and around the Sanctuary? Eagle Scout projects. The steel shade structure over the preschool playground? Eagle Scout project. And many many more.  Last Saturday troop member, Aiden Ransick, led the effort to spruce up the parking lot areas as his Eagle Scout project. The lot will be cleaned, re-lined and new signage installed.
