"No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference" by Greta Thunberg is one of the Lenten book studies at United of Santa Fe. The book is a collection of 11 speeches on climate change by climate activist Greta Thunberg, including “Our House Is on Fire.” Her book is a rallying cry to wake up and protect the planet, no matter how powerless we may feel.
On Saturday, March 21, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. come to Encanto Community Church's eighth annual Casino Night. The initial "buy-in" is $10 per adult and $5 per child (under 12) for $100 worth of chips. All proceeds will be donated to Heifer International. A complimentary light supper will be served, including croissant sandwiches, wraps, rice and beans, and some tasty dessert. They will have a Craps table, Roulette wheel, a Black Jack table, plus a couple of poker tables.
Taos UCC held a Visioning Retreat on Saturday at the Blue Sky Retreat Center at San Geronimo Lodge in Taos. It will be exciting to watch how this new church creates their dream of Taos UCC for their homes, congregation, community, and world!
The needs of refugees continue. First Congregational in Albuquerque recently became aware of at least 34 families in ABQ who are seeking asylum. They have formed a task group to respond to refugees in the community. A group called the 5 Site Council has come together to support these families with transportation, medical, legal, and other needs.
Desert Palm is one of several churches in Tempe that house the homeless a couple of times a month in a program called IHELP. In the morning, they lay out a variety of food items, such as energy bars, fruit, chips, snacks, and desserts. If their guests would like to take something with them to eat later in the day, they can choose some items that work for them.

This Lent, First Church Phoenix invites folks to choose a spiritual discipline that provides an opportunity to put their alms together with others to buy and abolish medical debt, thus manifesting the great commandments: to love God and love your neighbor, and to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with our God. The goal is to raise $15,000 in 4 months.
