Join people of faith throughout Arizona (and beyond!) as we virtually celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19, the 2022 celebration of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be virtual. Throughout the week, a series of short videos will be published online in which local Christian leaders reflect on Scripture and pray for the unity of Christ’s Church. Daily Zoom gatherings at noon will be offered from Tuesday, January 18 through Tuesday, January 25 to view the videos together and then join together in discussion and reflection. This is a time for all Christians to come together as an ecumenical community to pray for peace.
The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity has a history of over 100 years , in which Christians around the world have taken part in an octave of prayer for visible Christian unity. By annually observing the WPCU, Christians move toward the fulfillment of Jesus' prayer at the Last Supper "that they all may be one." (cf. John 17:21)
