“Well, I Have Never Heard That!": A New Perspective on Biblical Interpretations of Three Women’s Lives in the Hebrew Scriptures
Three classes taught from a black female feminist theological perspective, ‘WOMANIST’ is the word for this process: interpreting writings, speeches, etc.
Classes will be Tuesdays, May 31, June 7 & 14th at 10-11:30 am. Location will be in King Hall at Church of the Palms, 14808 N Boswell Blvd in Sun City. The first woman to be discussed is Tamar. Kay Klinkenborg, a member of the church, will be the facilitator; she taught this series at Church of the Palms’ 18th Annual Interfaith Ecumenical Retreat in Prescott in the fall of 2021.
Kay has a Master’s in Human Development Counseling with a Minor in Women’s Studies. One of her passions has been to ‘hear the voices of silenced women’ in the scriptures. She is a Spiritual Director/Companion and is a retired RN, Licensed Marriage Family & Therapist, Clinical Member AAMFT ( American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists) Adjunct faculty University of Illinois-Springfield, national trainer on domestic violence and sexual abuse.
