The Progressive Art Installation at Church of the Palms continues...and takes us from the inside out into the world.  Come Alive!

Drum Circles will start up again in the fall at the Church of the Palms Doing Grief Community Healing Project.  Meanwhile, the Daily Independent newspaper has offered great coverage.

This summer the children of United Church of Santa Fe tend the Children’s Garden during Sunday worship and learn about God and God’s earth, water, air, and creatures. All the garden produce goes to the Food Depot.  The Food Depot supplies schools, shelters, and agencies throughout Northern New Mexico with healthy food year-round.

A story from a First Church Phoenix volunteer, Joan G., working at the Phoenix Welcome Center: A clean change of clothes is always much appreciated by our asylum seekers at the Welcome Center. When offered a set of earrings or a simple necklace, it’s a treat, the something unexpected, and the smiles, as our guests make their choices, are so much fun. It’s a joy to clean, repair and even redesign donated jewelry to provide a chance for our guests to feel extra special.  (I didn’t even think to send jewelry! That will be on my next shipment. -Holly)

United Church of Sun City’s Witt Hall was first built in 1961 and was their sanctuary until theirs was built in 1965. Since 2007 Witt Hall has been used by the Banner Olive Branch Senior Center serving meals and offering services to Sun City seniors. Olive Branch moved to their new location and Witt Hall is eager to find the perfect new tenant. Another nonprofit catering to Sun City seniors would be perfect. Everyone be on the lookout!

As part of an occasional series of safety and security presentations, the Casas Adobes Safety Team hosted a resource officer from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department who gave a presentation yesterday on personal safety awareness.

Shadow Rock held a presentation about Naloxone during worship two weeks ago.  Naloxone injector kits are now available on the Shadow Rock campus in several locations.  Naloxone (brand name Narcan) can save the life of a person who's experiencing a narcotics overdose. It's safe to use, even if you're not sure if an unconscious person is having an overdose. To see the instructions for administering Naloxone, please click here

There are a lot of new faces at Oro Valley UCC, so this summer folks are invited to a monthly lunch fellowship time at various local Oro Valley restaurants. This is simply a time to be together, eat, and connect or re-connect with old and make new friends.

Close friend of First Congregational in Prescott, Roxanne Matthews and other members of Mom's Demand Action of Prescott placed 120 pairs of shoes on FCC's steps in part of the movement called "Wear Orange" to commemorate and make people aware of the 120 people who are killed EACH day in the U.S. by gun violence. The group works to promote common sense gun laws and safe storage of guns.

We celebrate with the United Church of Angel Fire! After a nine-month search, they've called a new pastor to serve their congregation. Rev. David Wilman, a Presbyterian currently serving at the First Presbyterian Church in Rockdale, Texas, will move to Angel Fire in the next four to six weeks. We look forward to welcoming him.
