Rev. Dr. Marvin L. Morgan, Interim Pastor, Church of the Red Rocks in Sedona, AZ, mimicked his late father, Dock Washington Morgan, a sharecropper in NC, as he delivered the sermon on the first Sunday of Black History Month. Marvin, while sharing the story of the loss (or rather the theft) of the "Old Morgan Farm" in Lincoln County, AL, decided to honor his late father, who always wore bib overalls with a white shirt and a tie on Sundays.

Rev. Bonnie McNair retired from her call as the Night Staff Chaplain at Yuma Regional Medical Center on February 1, 2023. Yuma United Church of Christ celebrated with Rev. Bonnie her retirement as a chaplain. She remains the pastor of the church.

The Rev. Dr. Deborah Krause to Preach at Desert Garden UCC
Desert Garden UCC will welcome the Rev. Dr. Deborah Krause as guest minister for its worship service on February 26. Dr. Krause is president and professor of New Testament at Eden Theological Seminary, one of the denomination’s six seminaries.
Following the worship service, Dr. Krause will lead a discussion into the interpretation of scripture as it relates to the Open and Affirming discernment process.

Doing Grief™ Community Healing Project at the Palms Rings in the New Year
A new ministry begins at The Church of the Palms in 2023! Doing Grief Community Healing Project at the Palms (DGCHP) is a collaborative ministry between COTP and Doing Grief Healing Center, directed by Rev. Shea Darian – a UCC minister, hospital chaplain, and member of The Church of the Palms. This new ministry will provide spiritual care (small group Healing Circles and one-on-one spiritual care), spiritual enrichment (“Healing through the Arts” programs and contemplative prayer/meditation practices), and grief education workshops that encourage grievers to become their own best healers.
