Sedona Academy of Chamber Singers concert at Church of the Red Rocks
The Sedona Academy of Chamber Singers, choir-in-residence at The Church of the Red Rocks and the only semi-professional choir in Northern Arizona, will share a choral concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 19th, at The Church of the Red Rocks, 54 Bowstring Drive, Sedona.
Admission is free.
The concert, entitled From the Heart, will feature choral settings featuring basic human emotions: joy, sadness, anger, fear, and love.

The Evans Bell Conversion is making available a program of spoken word and music entitled “Meditations Traveling Towards the Setting Sun.” This performance, about 45 minutes in length, is set around a journey that was taken during the last Lenten season. This trip through South East Asia inspired this collection of work that is an attempt to intertwine the ancient rhythms of eastern religions with our own continuing exploration of spirituality in the cosmically focused 21st century.

Spend an afternoon with the Dialogue Institute staff and SUSI scholars from around the world!
SUSI is the “Study of the U.S. Institutes for Scholars on Religious Pluralism and Democratic Values in the United States" which is sponsored by the US State Department. The Dialogue Institute, which is housed at Temple University in Philadelphia, is the organization managing the study. Eighteen scholars will be in Sedona as part of their study of U.S. history, society, and institutions through the lens of religious pluralism in the US.

Mark Behle, a member of The Church of the Palms, United Church of Christ, serves the Lesotho Evangelical Church in Southern Africa. For the last few years, Mark has been working in the planning office of that church and has been involved with various projects such as the textbooks for the seminary, school furniture, and school classroom construction. Prior to that, he taught math and religion at Masitise High School for fifteen years.
After almost 27 years of serving God and The United Church of Christ in Africa, Mark is coming home. It will be good to have Mark back with us!
